Christiana Care Health Services Program

The Christiana Care Emergency Medicine/Family Medicine dual residency program is an innovative opportunity for those seeking dual training in both specialties. The curriculum integrates the best of emergency and family medicine training to develop confident and innovative leaders in the field. Residents in this program experience rotations covering a wide array of clinical disciplines, including OB-GYN, pediatrics, surgical subspecialties, emergency medical services, anesthesiology, and trauma surgery.

The program emphasizes continuity of care, providing a solid foundation in ambulatory medicine through the Family Medicine Center. Residents also receive extensive training in emergency medicine at Christiana Hospital, which is a level I trauma center and Delaware's only center treating adults and children. Exposure to various patient cases prepares residents to handle high acuity scenarios, including those encountered in the emergency department.

Global Health opportunities are also integrated into the program, with a global health track available for residents interested in expanding their knowledge in global health or pursuing careers in underserved communities.
