The Cleveland Clinic Interventional Radiology Residency Program offers an Interventional Radiology-Independent Residency program that consists of one or two years of training following completion of a Diagnostic Radiology Residency program. Candidates who have graduated from a program with an Early Specialization in Interventional Radiology (ESIR) pathway only require one year of training. They participate in the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP) and only accept applicants through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). The application requirements include a medical school transcript, three letters of recommendation, USMLE scores, a personal statement, curriculum vitae, and a photo. Applications can be submitted through ERAS starting in November. Graduates must have completed an ACGME accredited diagnostic radiology residency program. Interviews are held between January and March. The program also supports J-1 and H-1B visas. There is no cut-off date for graduation from medical school. The program offers two distinct pathways for IR certification: IR-Integrated Residency and IR-Independent Residency.
