Plastic Surgery - Integrated - Atlanta, GA | ACGME Code: 3621200001 | NRMP Code: 1113362C0
The Emory University School of Medicine offers both an Independent Plastic Surgery Residency and an Integrated Plastic Surgery Residency. The program aims to develop academic plastic surgeons of the future in a fun, collegial, and supportive atmosphere. Residents at Emory experience a wide range of cases, from routine to extraordinarily complex, in various clinical settings across Georgia.
The Emory Plastic Surgery Residency has two ACGME-accredited tracks: a three-year independent program and a six-year integrated program with access to eight clinical sites. The program focuses on providing residents with unparalleled operative independence in emergency and elective cases. The curriculum is designed to enhance residents' plastic surgery skills to the highest level.
The Independent Plastic Surgery Residency at Emory accepts two residents each year and applications are accepted through the San Francisco Match service with a deadline of December 31st. The Integrated Plastic Surgery Residency also accepts two residents annually and applications are submitted through ERAS with a deadline of October 31st.
On rotations, residents have the opportunity to work at diverse training sites, including private practice and academic facilities, to gain hands-on experience. Emory Plastic Surgery offers training in areas like muscle flaps and oncoplastic breast operations. The program emphasizes education and excellence, training generations of plastic surgeons and contributing significantly to the field.
For those interested in observing specific procedures with Emory Plastic Surgery, only licensed plastic surgeons sponsored by a faculty member are approved for a maximum of two weeks. Completing a formal clerkship/rotation and participating in formal interviews are not mandatory to be considered for the program; candidates are equally ranked based on merit.
