Hurley Medical Center/Michigan State University Program

Hurley Medical Center/Internal Medicine Residency Program provides residents with the skills, knowledge, and experience needed for a successful career in primary-care medicine or subspecialties. It is a three-year program affiliated with Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and accredited by the ACGME. The program offers inpatient and outpatient care, an emergency medicine component, and research opportunities. Residents receive focused guidance from a well-established faculty. Hurley has a history of high board exam passing rates. Residents benefit from a well-balanced curriculum and opportunities for personal and professional growth.

The program is known for its academic excellence, community outreach, and clinical experience. Since the program is university-affiliated, being part of the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, it offers opportunities like instructor resident appointments and the chance for residents to complete a Master of Public Health degree. International medical graduates are welcome to apply, but ECFMG certification is required. The program accepts J-1 visas.
