Loma Linda University Health Education Consortium Program

The Plastic Surgery Residency Program at Loma Linda University Health provides a six-year integrated residency with a total of twelve residents, accepting two positions per year. Residents undergo a progressive increase in clinical responsibility throughout the program. The rotations include exposure to various surgical specialties like plastic surgery, ENT, vascular surgery, transplantation surgery, and more. Structured educational activities include weekly resident-led conferences on different topics, a Nasoendoscopy conference, journal clubs, Morbidity and Mortality conferences, and mock Oral Boards.

Research is integral to the program, with residents engaging in basic science or clinical projects early in their residency. The program emphasizes academic productivity, requiring residents to fulfill research requirements such as abstract submissions, grant completion, and manuscript submissions to peer-reviewed journals.

The program at Loma Linda University Health is fully accredited and participates in the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). It offers elective opportunities for medical students and a summer research fellowship. The residency supports the education and training of students, aiming to enhance clinical care and research in plastic surgery.
