The Ophthalmology Residency Program at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School is a 36-month program conducted at three different sites in northern New Jersey. The program aims to train current and future eye care providers and work towards finding cures for various eye conditions. There is a joint internship program (PGY1) with the Internal Medicine Residency, providing three months of ophthalmology experience with broad exposure to general and specialty clinics.
In this program, 15 residents are admitted over three years, with 5 residents in each year of training. The structured curriculum includes rotations in different subspecialties such as Retina, Glaucoma, Neuro-ophthalmology, Cornea, and Oculoplastics.
