Stony Brook Medicine Program

The Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery residency program at Stony Brook University is a five-year training program accredited by the ACGME. They have a full complement of PGY-1 through PGY-5 trainees. The program aims to train physicians to be competent in all aspects of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, supporting residents' career goals. The program is small, with one resident per post-graduate year, providing a close-knit relationship between residents and faculty. Clinical rotations take place at Stony Brook Medicine facilities, including a variety of hospitals and centers.

Residents in the program gain broad-based training in all aspects of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery. The program emphasizes the need for residents to exercise flexibility in terms of case and clinic coverage. Applicants to the program are expected to be self-starters, able to work both independently and as part of a team.
