The Tripler Army Medical Center Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program offers a comprehensive training experience with many strengths, including a close working relationship between attending staff and residents, diverse patient population, and specialty expertise in all areas of Radiology. The program provides high resident responsibility, access to top-quality attending staff, and active interventional radiology opportunities.

Residents benefit from state-of-the-art facilities, such as GE and Siemens MRI machines, CT scanners, PET/CT, ultrasound systems, digital mammography, and interventional radiology suite. The program features daily lectures and conferences, guest lectures by renowned educators, and various subspecialty conferences. Residents participate in a structured educational program and have the opportunity to rotate at prestigious institutions for further training.

The program offers a five-year curriculum starting at the PGY-2 level, with increasing involvement in services and teaching responsibilities as residents progress. Residents have the chance to take the ABR Core Examination following 36 months of training. The final year focuses on refining skills and knowledge in preparation for independent practice.

For Military applicants, the program follows U.S. Army guidelines, with priority given to medical students with Army commitments. Civilian applicants can participate in the National Resident Matching Program, with the program being the only VA funded Army Radiology Residency position in the U.S. US citizenship is required, along with completion of US licensure examinations.
