The University of Chicago Medical Center offers a Clinical Laboratory Fellowship Training in Laboratory Genetics and Genomics accredited by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG). This program is a 24-month training that integrates molecular and cytogenetics. The training includes participation in daily diagnostic activities, clinical laboratory management skills, and research projects. Fellows will engage in various didactic activities such as a Graduate-Level Course in Human Genetics, Medical Genetics Core Lecture Series, Clinical Case Conferences, Journal Clubs, and more.
Eligibility requirements include a valid M.D. or Ph.D. degree with experience in genetics or related fields. International candidates must have English proficiency and pass the TOEFL-iBT exam. The program is highly competitive, with applications accepted from May 1st to August 31st. Interviews are conducted from October to December, and the training starts on July 1st.
