The University of Chicago offers an Interventional Radiology - Integrated Residency Program that spans five years. This program includes subspecialty tracks with rotations in various areas such as abdominal computed tomography, neurointerventional radiology, nuclear medicine, pediatric imaging, and vascular and interventional radiology. Residents also have the opportunity for elective time for additional clinical rotations and/or research. The program aims to provide a well-balanced training experience, encompassing both diagnostic and interventional radiology.
Residents at the University of Chicago program benefit from educational facilities that include a study room and a recently remodeled resident conference room for daily conferences. The program also offers a comprehensive curriculum with daily conferences, weekly seminars, and regular Grand Rounds and Research Conferences. Residents are encouraged to engage in research activities, with dedicated time and funding provided for interested individuals.
With state-of-the-art imaging systems in place, the clinical department is well-equipped for training and research purposes. The program was fully accredited by the ACGME in April 2017. The Department of Radiology's faculty includes renowned professionals such as Brian Funaki, MD FSIR, FAHA, FCIRSE, and Rakesh Navuluri, MD FSIR, among others.
