Open PGY4 OBGYN Position
Position Description
Starting June 1st, Monmouth Medical Center located in Long Branch, NJ will have an available PGY-4 OBGYN position. I am one of the rising chiefs, and a fellow classmate has decided to relocate to another state to begin a family with their partner. Our hospital is community-based and affiliated with Rutgers, hosting 4 residents each year. We pride ourselves on maintaining a supportive and close-knit residency environment. Our facility handles nearly 7,000 deliveries annually and is known for being TOLAC and abortion-friendly. The fourth year is generally more relaxed compared to other years, with residents taking 17 call weekends throughout the year, ensuring two free weekends each month. During the fourth year, residents will spend 4-6 weeks on night shifts, 8 weeks in gynecologic oncology, 12 weeks in obstetrics, and the remaining time in gynecology. The final 4 weeks of the year are dedicated to an independent study block, allowing residents to be out of the hospital. Most surgical procedures are performed at MMC, with additional gynecology cases at a nearby facility, CMC. In terms of lifestyle, the hospital offers a view of the beach, and the PGY4 salary is approximately $85,000. The area is vibrant year-round with plenty of activities, located about an hour by train from NYC and a 90-minute drive to Philadelphia. The quality of life is excellent, and the training is comprehensive. If you are interested, please reach out to our program director at francesca.ferrari@rwjbh.org or reply to this post directly.
