BronxCare Health System Program offers a comprehensive orthopedic surgery residency training program with a focus on exposure to a wide range of surgical diseases and procedures. Residents have the opportunity to participate in numerous cases, with trainees in the operating room starting from their intern year. The program emphasizes the relationship between residents and faculty, providing structured advising and mentorship to guide residents towards their chosen fields.
Application requirements for the program include being in the 90th percentile in USMLE Step exams with no failures, preferably passing Step 1, Step 2, and Step 2 CS on the first attempt. Step 3 is preferred but not required unless applying for an H1B Visa. The program also accepts International Medical Graduates (IMGs) and offers visa sponsorship for J-1 and H1-B visas. Graduation within the last 10 years is preferred. Letters of recommendation are required, with 3 preferred, and a letter from the Program Director if the applicant has completed a U.S. residency.
