The Highland Hospital of Rochester Program offers an Internal Medicine Residency Program in collaboration with the University of Rochester Medical Center. Residents have the opportunity to rotate through Strong Memorial Hospital, Highland Hospital, and the Wilmot Cancer Center.

Strong Memorial Hospital (SMH) is an 850-bed tertiary care center that serves a diverse patient population including urban, suburban, and rural patients. Residents have rotations in inpatient general medicine, hematology-oncology, medical intensive care, coronary care, and palliative care at SMH. Electives in major subspecialties are also available at SMH.

Highland Hospital (HH) is a 270-bed community hospital that serves as the primary hospital for many primary care practices in the area. Residents have rotations in inpatient general medicine and Geriatrics at HH. Subspecialty electives are also offered at HH.

Residents also rotate through the Wilmot Cancer Institute for inpatient hematology-oncology services and specialized hematology and oncology clinics. Additionally, residents may have opportunities to train at other University-owned or affiliated facilities based on their elective choices.
