The Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science offers a 3-year Family Medicine Residency program. Residents in this program have the opportunity to provide primary care, comprehensive medical evaluations, and various procedures for patients of all ages in Arizona, Florida, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. The program emphasizes a hands-on approach, with residents performing a wide range of procedures on their clinic patients, including dermatologic procedures, joint and soft tissue injections, ultrasound, casting, colposcopies, IUD and Nexplanon insertions, vaginal deliveries, vasectomy, and more.
In the second and third years, residents have a continuity care role for pregnant women, serving as both the primary care provider and primary maternity care provider. Additionally, senior residents participate in a "night-float" system to provide robust hospital learning opportunities while maintaining a focus on resident well-being.
The Mayo Clinic in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, where the program is based, offers virtual interviews to eliminate financial and time barriers for applicants. Selected ranked applicants have the opportunity for no-stakes campus visits. The program actively seeks input from residents through various meetings and feedback mechanisms to cater to their needs effectively. Rotation opportunities are also available for medical students.
For more detailed information about the program and application process, applicants are encouraged to visit the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science website.
