The Medical College of Wisconsin Plastic Surgery Integrated Residency Program is a six-year program affiliated with 17 full-time faculty members, including 15 surgeons. Residents in this program are exposed to a variety of clinical pathology, patient populations, and case complexities, preparing them for academic or private practice careers or fellowship pursuits.
In the PGY 1-2 years, residents spend time in various departments including Plastic Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Anesthesia, and more. They also participate in Plastic Surgery labs and didactics. During PGY 3-4, residents focus on Plastic Surgery, Hand, and Facial Trauma services, with rotations in Dermatologic Surgery and Oculoplastic Surgery. The PGY 5 year involves rotations in Plastic Surgery and Craniofacial services, while in PGY 6, residents serve as administrative chiefs at Froedtert Hospital and the Milwaukee VA.
This program offers two first-year integrated positions annually and is fully accredited by the ACGME. Applicants will be invited to interview in Milwaukee in December or January after applying through ERAS.
