The Medical College of Wisconsin Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship Program offers a comprehensive 24-month ACGME-accredited training experience. With rotations at Froedtert Hospital, Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center, and Children’s Wisconsin, fellows gain exposure to a wide variety of cardiovascular and general thoracic procedures.

The program features: - Robust thoracic robotic program - Two new hybrid cardiovascular surgical suites - Busy heart failure program including ECMO, VAD, transplantation - Weekly conferences and academic teaching - Full APP staffing for clinic and inpatient coverage - Diverse experience in general thoracic, adult cardiac, mechanical circulatory support, and congenital cardiothoracic surgery

Eligibility Criteria: - Successful completion of a 5-year ACGME-accredited general surgery residency program - Application limited to certain residency programs including ACGME-accredited and specific Canadian residencies

Application Process: - Applications only accepted through ERAS - Required documents include CV, 3 letters of recommendation, USMLE scores, medical school transcripts, personal statement, and a photo

Benefits for fellows: - 15 days of vacation per year - 5 days for CME conference attendance - Protected time for weekly didactics - Educational funds for materials and conferences - Complimentary parking, on-call meals, and laundry service

The program aims to educate and train future leaders in Cardiothoracic Surgery through a structured curriculum and daily clinical teaching.
