The MedStar Health Internal Medicine Residency program in Baltimore, Maryland offers a comprehensive training experience for future internists. Residents have the opportunity to work at four different hospitals in Baltimore: MedStar Franklin Square Hospital, MedStar Union Memorial Hospital, MedStar Harbor Hospital, and MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital, exposing them to a diverse patient population and a wide range of pathology.
The program follows a 6+2 ambulatory model, with rotations designed to cover the ACGME's six core competencies. Residents are divided into three firms and work closely together with a full-time chief resident for administrative support.

Application to the program is through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS), with the program sponsoring both J1 and H1b visas for Categorical track applicants. Applicants should have passed Step 1 & 2 on their first attempt, and there is no official cut off for year of graduation, though recent clinical experience is preferred.
