The Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine Internal Medicine Residency Program prides itself on offering a supportive and collegial environment for residents to receive outstanding clinical training in both inpatient and ambulatory settings. The program welcomes 39 categorical interns, 10 primary care/social internal medicine interns, and 25 categorical preliminary interns annually.

Application Deadline: Applications are accepted through December 1st of the year prior to matriculation. The program participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). They accept DO candidates but prefer that they have taken USMLE Step 1 and preferably Step 2 by the time of application. Interviews are scheduled based on applicants' overall academic records and clinical performance, and there are no USMLE cut-off scores.

International Applicants: Applications from international medical graduates are selectively considered. A medical degree obtained within 3 years of application, with evidence of continued clinical work and/or productive scholarly/research activity, is required. ECFMG certification is not required at the time of application but must be completed before submitting a rank list.

Visa Sponsorship: Montefiore Medical Center sponsors J-1 and H-1B visas.
