The NYU Grossman School of Medicine/Brooklyn Campus Internal Medicine Residency Program provides a diverse and comprehensive training experience. Leveraging NYU Langone’s Department of Medicine, the program offers encounters with a broad range of patients and diseases across multiple clinical settings, including private, municipal, and federal hospital systems. The Department of Medicine at NYU Langone and its subspecialty divisions include over 1,200 faculty members involved in a range of teaching and patient care activities. With more than 221 internal medicine residents, the program focuses on excellence in teaching, patient care, and research. Graduates enjoy a high fellowship match rate and go on to assume roles in general internal medicine or various subspecialties across academic and community settings.

Application Process: Applications to the residency program must be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). A supplemental ERAS application for the 2023–24 recruitment season is voluntary. There is no minimum score requirement for the USMLE exams, but applicants must pass USMLE Step 1 before applying and USMLE Step 2 before graduating from medical school. The deadline for applications is October 1, with interviews taking place from November through January for positions beginning in July.

Visa Support: The program supports J-1 visas for international graduates who have graduated within the past three years and have at least one year of direct patient care clinical experience in the United States. Observerships do not qualify for this experience requirement.
