The Psychiatry Residency Program at St. John's Episcopal Hospital-South Shore is a fully approved four-year categorical program with four residents per year. The PGY-1 year includes eight months of Inpatient Psychiatry, three months on general medical floors, and one month in the medical Emergency Room. The PGY-2 year consists of four months Inpatient Psychiatry, three months of Consultation/Liaison, three months Psychiatric Emergency Room services, and two months of Neurology at SUNY Downstate. The PGY-3 year comprises 12 months of Outpatient Psychiatry, with 20% dedicated to Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
