The Universidad Central del Caribe sponsors an Internal Medicine residency program located at the Dr. Ramon Ruiz Arnau University Hospital. The program is fully accredited by the American Council on Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
To be eligible for the program, candidates must meet the following criteria: - Graduates of LCME or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited medical schools - Must have passed USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 exams, and preferably Step 2 CS - Graduates of medical schools outside Canada and the United States must have a valid ECFMG certificate or have completed a Fifth Pathway in a LCME accredited medical school, along with USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 exams - Candidates who graduated from non-accredited medical schools in the US or Canada are not eligible
Application requirements include: - Completed application form - Photo (2X2) - Curriculum Vitae - Personal statement - Evidence of USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 scores - ECFMG certificate if applicable - Two letters of recommendation from supervisory figures - Good conduct certificate - College and medical school transcripts - Copy of medical diploma - Copy of the Dean’s letter
Immigrants must provide evidence of permanency, as the program does not sponsor any type of visas. Fluency in Spanish is a requirement for all applicants.
