The University of Mississippi School of Medicine Program in Medical Genetics is dedicated to providing comprehensive evaluation and treatment for known or suspected inherited disorders. The program boasts a clinical team of three board-certified geneticists, two nurse practitioners, four board-certified genetic counselors, and two metabolic dietitians who cater to the adult, pediatric, and prenatal patient populations of Mississippi. For the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, the Children's Heart Center (CHC) sets itself apart by being the sole provider in Mississippi offering all health-related services to patients with congenital heart disease. The CHC comprises 15 pediatric cardiologists covering all subspecialties, two congenital heart surgeons, four cardiac intensivists, two pediatric cardiac anesthesiologists, and a team of nurse practitioners. Serving a significant patient population, the CHC performs various procedures annually, including congenital heart surgeries, catheterizations, electrophysiology procedures, ECGs, and echocardiograms.

Furthermore, the University of Mississippi Medical Center places a strong emphasis on education and research within the field of pediatric cardiology. Since 2015, they have received approval to train physicians in pediatric cardiology, expanding their ACGME-approved program to accommodate six fellows.
