University of Southern California/LAC+USC (North Hollywood) Program

The University of Southern California/LAC+USC Family Medicine Residency Program in Los Angeles aims to train Family Medicine physician trailblazers to transform primary care and promote health equity and wellness for all. Some highlights of the program include:

• Residency Home at Leading Academic Institution: The residency program is located in a leading academic healthcare system in the heart of Los Angeles with opportunities to provide patient-centered team-based care for diverse communities.
• Primary Care in the Community: The program follows a "clinic-first" model emphasizing continuity clinic experiences and serving diverse patient populations, including complex patients.
• Partnerships with Leading Teaching Hospitals: Residents receive training at reputable hospitals like Children's Hospital Los Angeles and Los Angeles General Medical Center.
• Unique Street Medicine Curriculum: Residents have the opportunity to provide primary care for people experiencing homelessness on the streets, emphasizing health equity and social justice.
• Special Interests and Electives: The program offers longitudinal tracks with specialized elective rotations in areas like Street Medicine, Medical Education, College Health, HIV Primary Care, and more.
• Expert Faculty and Innovation: Residents are mentored by diverse faculty recognized for their work in education, research, and innovation.
• Resident Leadership Opportunities: Residents can participate in various leadership committees and activities to support their growth as Family Medicine physician leaders.

Application requirements include submission through ERAS and relevant documents such as CV, personal statement, USMLE/COMLEX transcripts, letters of recommendation, and ECFMG status report for international medical graduates. The program does not have strict USMLE or COMLEX cutoff scores but strongly prefers graduation within three years. They conduct virtual interviews and support a holistic approach to the selection process.

Unfortunately, visa sponsorship is unavailable at this time for the program. Residents receive competitive salaries and benefits that include free parking, free meals, on-campus housing, on-campus child care, vacation time, a housing stipend, and educational stipend.
