The Wayne State University Preventive Medicine Residency Program places a strong emphasis on training well-prepared preventive medicine physicians to deliver high-quality care while improving the health of the Detroit community. Supported by the MIDOCS initiative, residents have the opportunity to address physician shortages in underserved areas in Michigan and may receive loan repayment assistance. Applicants should have graduated from medical school within the last 3 years, with USMLE scores of 200 or higher on Step 1 and Step 2, and passing Step 2 CS on the first attempt. A minimum of 6 months of US clinical experience is required. The application deadline is December 15th, and interviews are conducted from January onwards. Residents receive a competitive salary, benefits, and CME allowances.
