The HCA Healthcare/Los Robles Regional Medical Center Neurology Residency Program is a brand-new program set to start in July of 2022. The program will offer 3 categorical spots per year. They are part of the HCA GME family, which is the largest GME provider in the United States.
The mission of the Los Robles Regional Medical Center Neurology Residency Program is to develop the next generation of physicians and physician leaders. They aim to provide high-quality training, practice evidence-based medicine, promote research, and ensure resident wellness. The program will integrate residents into the community to deliver excellent care to the people of Thousand Oaks and Ventura County.
The program is accredited by the ACGME for 3 categorical positions. Residents will have the opportunity to interact with experienced academic faculty at Los Robles Health System's main campus.
The curriculum is designed based on the six core competencies of the ACGME, including patient care, medical knowledge, professionalism, systems-based practice, interpersonal and communication skills, and practice-based learning and improvement. The curriculum includes rotations in various areas such as Medicine Inpatient, Neurology, Neuro-pathology, Neuro-immunology, and more.
The program offers a salary and benefits package for residents at different PGY levels. Interviews for PGY-1 positions began Fall 2021, and qualified applications from allopathic and osteopathic candidates are considered. Residents will learn from a committed and talented faculty who aim to support residents' professional and personal goals.
The program directors are M. Asif Taqi, MD, FAHA, who leads the program. The faculty includes experienced neurology professionals such as V. Raghav Aachi, MD, Mani Nezhad, MD, Emanuela Sofroni, MD, Hisham Salahuddin, MD, Lorne S. Label, MD, and Nori Pimentel, MD in Pediatric Neurology.
