The Nassau University Medical Center Transitional Year Residency Program is a one-year ACGME accredited program that aims to provide a balanced and comprehensive foundation of clinical skills for future categorical residency programs. This program accepts ten residents per academic year and offers rotations in various specialties including surgery, internal medicine, family medicine, OB/GYN, emergency medicine, and pediatric emergency medicine. Additionally, elective rotations are available to meet the educational needs of residents.
Upon completion of the Transitional Year Residency, graduates have successfully pursued categorical residency programs in anesthesiology, emergency medicine, internal medicine, family medicine, surgery, radiology, and physical medicine and rehabilitation.
