Health Care Administration, Leadership, and Management Fellowship at Stanford Health Care (SHC) aims to develop future leaders in healthcare administration, leadership, and management. This program emerges in response to the growing need for physician administrators who can bridge operational gaps and advocate for patient safety and well-being, especially highlighted during the Covid pandemic.

The fellowship offers a comprehensive introduction to real-life challenges in health care, preparing fellows to leverage their clinical knowledge in promoting safe, efficient, and effective healthcare. The training involves obtaining and analyzing information necessary to lead healthcare systems effectively, aligning with community needs and stakeholder support.

Program Features

Application Process

Applicants for the HALM Fellowship must have an MD or DO from an accredited university, with completion of residency training in an ACGME-accredited program, and eligibility for a full medical license in California. It also considers candidates currently in ACGME-accredited training under special circumstances.

Decisions are made after interviews, with various stages leading up to acceptance in the program. Selected candidates must complete a credentialing process and meet specific healthcare requirements, including certifications like BLS and ACLS.

The HALM Fellowship is highly competitive, welcoming applications from both U.S. graduates and international medical graduates (IMGs).
