Application Process

The application process to the UCLA Internal Medicine Program involves participating in the National Residency Matching Program and submitting through the ERAS application system. Essential application material includes a personal statement, medical school transcript, Dean's letter, and several letters of recommendation, including a mandatory letter from the Department of Medicine Chair. International medical graduates require a valid ECFMG certificate and are eligible for J-1 visa sponsorship, with H1B visas considered for exceptional candidates. Note that California does not require a Post Graduate Training Authorization Letter (PTAL).
