The UC Davis Health Family and Community Medicine Residency Program offers a comprehensive and dynamic training experience for aspiring family physicians. The program supports J-1 Clinical visas through the ECFMG for International Medical Graduates (IMGs) who must be ECFMG certified.
The residency includes a longitudinal experience at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) to develop competencies for working with diverse populations. Program options include Core Family Medicine, Combined Family Medicine/Obstetrics, and Combined Family Medicine/Psychiatry pathways. Residents engage in a diverse range of clinical settings, including FQHCs, academic medical centers, and VA facilities.
The curriculum emphasizes building a strong foundation in inpatient skills during the first year, followed by a focus on outpatient skills, individual learning goals, and practicing as leaders in the inpatient setting during the second and third years.
