USMLE Step 2
Discussions
Don’t neglect wellness. Overstudying can lead to burnout real fast. Balance is key.
Skipping basics. Make sure your base, especially IM, is solid before diving into random facts.
Def do the new ones, like Form 8. Also Form 6 was pretty predictive for me.
Do full-length practice tests in a quiet room, start early morning like the actual test.
I did about 4-5 including the UWSAs and NBMEs, felt pretty prepared.
Regular breaks, workouts, and meditation helped me a lot. Keep your mental health a priority!
Zanki’s Step 2 deck is solid. And if u want something shorter, try the WiWa or Dope decks.
Do the UWorld Peds subject review twice, and check out the Emma Holliday Ramahi lecture on YouTube. 👍
I used it as a supplement to UW. Great for diving deep into topics.
Step 2 in 6 weeks, feasible?
Only got 6 weeks till my test date, can I still make it to a decent score?
It's tight but doable. Focus on weak areas first and do a quick pass over strengths. All the best!
Totally! Just prioritize UWorld and maybe double your daily Qs. Review the UWorld tables and summaries diligently.
CK prep schedule help?
Hey guys, just started prep for CK, any1 got a solid study schedule they followed?
I made a 3-month plan, mixed in some AMBOSS q's with UW. Also, don’t forget to review the flashcards daily.
Started with UWorld, did random timed blocks. Reviewed incorrect ones in the evening. Worked great 4 me!
Failed NBME, now what?
Scored really bad on my NBME. How to bounce back from this? Feeling super demotivated rn 😔
Happened to me too. You need to analyze your weak areas from the NBME performance chart and focus your study on those.
Practice with peers, simulate encounters and time your patient note writing. It’s all about getting comfortable with the format.
UWorld biostats review is all you need honestly. Drill those Qs.
Juggling rotations & studying?
How do you balance time between rotations and CK study? I'm struggling here 😩
Try audio resources like podcasts during your commute! Saves up a lot of time.
It's tough, no lie. I do 20-30 UWorld Qs every day after rotations, more on weekends. Keeps me on track while not burning out.
As long as it's not affecting your sleep, it's fine. Don't overdo it, maybe stick to 2-3 cups max.
UWorld and the OnlineMedEd videos were all I used. Covered pretty much everything.
Set daily goals instead of weekly. Much easier to follow and keeps you consistent.
Chill on the last day, no heavy studying. Just review your notes briefly and relax!
Hydrate, sleep well, and maybe go over lab values and formulas one last time.
Make sure to review post-op care and trauma management, real high yield stuff.
Pestana's surgery notes + UWorld surgery questions. Can’t go wrong.
