Position Description

Greetings, I am the chief resident at a community program located about an hour outside of New York City. I am reaching out to announce an available R2 position in our program. One of our current R2 residents will be departing in a month to join a program with an established ESIR pathway. Our ESIR program is still in the early stages of development. He is leaving on good terms and has enjoyed his time here, but he is eager to pursue interventional radiology, which we fully support. Below are some details about our program. Please feel free to contact me directly via private message for more information. - Our community program is affiliated with a large academic institution. - There are no overnight shifts, and call shifts conclude by 10 PM. You will be on call with two attending physicians who will finalize your reports. - We offer 20 flexible PTO days that can be taken individually and can be planned as little as two weeks in advance. An additional PTO day is awarded for working on a holiday, along with 5 CME days. - The call schedule is very flexible; residents create the call schedule based on a designated number of shifts according to their year. Shift trades are common. - The program has a relaxed atmosphere; residents are not tasked with clearing the list during regular or call shifts and always leave on time. Business hours are from 8 AM to 4:30/5 PM. - We provide strong in-person teaching for body, neuro, mammography, and interventional radiology rotations. The musculoskeletal (MSK) rotation has improved significantly with our hospital's site director now being an MSK attending and present more frequently. - Benefits include a meal stipend, covered parking for physicians, an annual $1800 education/electronics stipend, a yearly $1,000 teaching bonus, and a salary close to six figures. - The location is coastal with plenty of activities and is less than an hour's train ride from NYC. **EDIT- To clarify, this is a PGY-3, second-year radiology position. Completion of one year of radiology residency is required for this role.
