I am currently a PGY1 resident seeking to swap for the start of my PGY2 year next year. I had hoped to be in the northeast, but unfortunately, that didn't work out. My feelings towards my program are positive; it's more about the location that prompted this change.

Hello, I've come to realize that internal medicine isn't the right fit for me. During medical school, I attempted to transition into psychiatry, but due to last-minute timing, I couldn't complete the necessary psych rotation because of required classes for graduation. I have a step score above 270, several publications, and I'm AOA. I'm reaching out to see if anyone currently in a psychiatry program would be open to swapping with me for an internal medicine position. My main priority is finding a program as close to the Bay Area as possible, and I am open to both academic and smaller community programs. Is anyone interested in making this switch?
