Baylor College of Medicine Program

The Combined Pediatrics Medical Genetics Residency Program at Baylor College of Medicine is a four-year program designed to train the next generation of academic leaders in medical genetics. The program accepts one resident per year and offers training primarily at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital and the Vanderbilt University Hospital.

Residents in this program gain experience in clinical genetics, biochemical genetics, cytogenetics, and molecular genetics through rotations designed to emphasize clinical competence and research. The curriculum includes various clinical, translational, and basic science research opportunities within the Division of Medical Genetics and Genomic Medicine and the wider VUMC and Vanderbilt community.

After completing the program, graduates are prepared to sit for the Clinical Genetics Board Examination administered by the American Board of Medical Genetics and the Pediatrics Board Examination administered by The American Board of Pediatrics.
