The Legacy Salmon Creek Internal Medicine Residency Program at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center is dedicated to providing a comprehensive medical education focusing on producing highly skilled primary care internists. The program aims at cultivating residents' abilities in culturally inclusive communication, critical appraisal of evidence-based practice, and quality improvement strategies for effective population-level healthcare interventions.

Key Program Features: - First intern class started in June 2022 - 12 residents annually, totaling 36 - Inpatient and outpatient rotations at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center - Ambulatory rotations at Vancouver Clinic - Salmon Creek - Primary care emphasis

Application Requirements: - ERAS application - Personal statement - Current photograph - Medical school transcripts - MSPE (dean’s letter) - Three letters of recommendation - Application deadline: Third Friday in December - Preferred USMLE scores above 190 and/or COMLEX scores above 525, passed on the first attempt - International graduates must be ECFMG certified, with recent clinical experience - Will accept ECFMG sponsored J1 visa

The program welcomes applicants with lower exam scores, following a holistic approach in offering interviews. Interviews are conducted virtually from October to January, and invitations are extended once applications are reviewed. Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center does not offer observerships or externships but provides resources for further education and career planning.
