  • Weekly Grand Rounds and departmental teaching conferences to promote continuous learning.

Clinical Experience

The clinical experience within the fellowship is structured to facilitate hands-on participation in the care of critically ill patients. Fellows are primarily involved in:

  • General and Burn Trauma Surgery Intensive Care Unit rotations.
  • Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit (CSICU).
  • Thoracic Surgery Intensive Care Unit.
  • Nutritional Support Service.

Elective rotations are also available in various areas, which may include:

  • Coronary Care Unit.
  • Medical Intensive Care Unit.
  • Renal Medicine—dialysis service.
  • Infectious Disease.
  • MedFlight Air Ambulance, Blood Bank/Clinical Pathology, and Emergency Radiology.

Research and Academic Opportunities

Fellows are encouraged to engage in research and public service opportunities that are abundant at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
