Daily intraoperative teaching sessions.
Weekly lectures and departmental grand rounds.
Monthly journal club discussions.
Involvement in the Perioperative and Intensive Care Ultrasound course workshops.
Participation in local workshops in the Boston area.
Specific fellow-centered conferences and anatomy labs.
Hands-on training in a Regional Anesthesia Practicum with living models.

Clinical Experience

Fellows will engage in comprehensive patient care through varied clinical experiences, including:

Active participation in the busy regional anesthesiology service at the main campus, excelling in teaching basic and advanced regional anesthesia techniques.
Exposure to the Acute Pain Service, averaging 12-14 weeks cumulatively.
A dedicated month at Boston Children’s Hospital.
Elective rotations at Foxboro Surgicenter, Faulkner Hospital, Mass Eye and Ear, and the Division of Obstetric Anesthesia.
Opportunities for involvement in research activities, contingent upon a research plan.

Salary and Benefits

The starting salary for fellows at the PGY-5 level in 2024 is set at $95,150, along with access to comprehensive employment benefits which cover health, dental, and disability insurance.

Moonlighting Opportunities

Fellows may be permitted to engage in moonlighting, provided they obtain permission from the Program Director and have a full medical license. However, candidates on a J1 visa are not eligible for moonlighting.
