Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine Program

The Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine Internal Medicine Residency Program offers a supportive and collegial environment for residents to receive outstanding clinical training. The program welcomes 39 categorical interns, 10 primary care/social internal medicine interns, and 25 categorical preliminary interns annually. Application Deadline: Applications are accepted through December 1st annually. DO candidates must have taken USMLE Step 1 and preferably Step 2 by the time of application. The program conducts interviews by invitation only on a rolling basis from November to January.

International Applicants: Selectively considered with a medical degree obtained within 3 years of application. Experience in the US medical system is preferred but not required. ECFMG certification is not required at the time of application but must be completed by submitting a rank list.

Visa Sponsorship: The program sponsors J-1 and H-1B visas for applicants holding a valid ECFMG certification by March 1st of the year of training.

Yearly Schedule: The program operates on a 6 + 2 schedule, providing opportunities for both inpatient and ambulatory experiences throughout the three postgraduate years.

Firm System: House staff is divided into three groups overseen by dedicated faculty and chief residents to provide mentorship and top-quality education in a supportive community.
