The Tripler Army Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program is located on the beautiful island of Oahu, Hawaii. Established in 1991, the program has a proud tradition of training outstanding family physicians within the Military Health System. The faculty members are highly trained, consisting of both military and civilian physicians with expertise in allopathic and osteopathic training. Fellowship-trained faculty in sports medicine, obstetrics, and faculty development enrich the educational experience.
Teamwork and high morale are key aspects of the program, with residents and faculty participating in various activities like flag football, dodgeball, ultimate Frisbee, and soccer. Family-oriented events, annual retreats, and outings foster camaraderie among participants.
For osteopathic students, there is a fully functional Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) clinic that receives referrals from all clinic providers. This provides ample opportunities to refine OMT skills with faculty preceptor support.
