The University of Alabama Medical Center offers a Pediatric Allergy & Immunology Fellowship Program that is accredited for a joint adult and pediatric fellowship. They accept one candidate each year with board eligibility or certification in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, or Med-Peds. The program provides intensive clinical training in allergic and immunologic diseases in both children and adults. Fellows have the opportunity to see patients at various clinics and hospitals, gaining experience in a wide range of conditions. There is a strong emphasis on research, quality improvement projects, and didactic conferences as part of the training curriculum.
The UAB Allergy & Immunology Program has a 100% board pass rate and aims to prepare physicians for either academic or clinical practice. Fellows are encouraged to pursue electives in various specialties related to allergy and immunology during their training. The fellowship program is typically two years long, with an optional third research year available. Applications are accepted through ERAS only.
