University of Alabama Medical Center Program

The University of Alabama Medical Center Program offers an Independent Interventional Radiology Residency. The program aims to train individuals to become highly skilled interventional radiologists who provide top-quality patient care. The program currently trains 4 Independent IR residents per year. Residents have access to a high-volume practice, state-of-the-art equipment, and a comprehensive adult and pediatric Interventional Radiology spectrum.

During the training, residents gain extensive experience in clinical and procedural IR. The program allows graduates of diagnostic radiology residencies to undertake a two-year independent IR residency. Graduates participate in clinical care, teaching, and research under the guidance of dedicated attending physicians.
