University of Cincinnati Medical Center/College of Medicine Program

The University of Cincinnati Medical Center/College of Medicine offers a Plastic, Reconstructive, Hand, and Burn Surgery Residency Training Program. The program provides diverse clinical opportunities at UC Medical Center, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, University of Cincinnati Westchester Hospital, Cincinnati Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and the surrounding community. The faculty is dedicated to providing a comprehensive training environment for plastic surgeons, with a focus on teamwork, excellence, and cohesive group work.

Residents in the program have exposure to the full scope of plastic surgery during their training, with options for both independent (3 years post basic surgical training) and integrated (6 years) pathways. The integrated program includes intensive plastic surgery rotations during the first three years, offering a broad range of experiences and opportunities for growth. The residency program has received full continued accreditation from the ACGME, adhering to the new work hour restrictions.

Graduates from the program have been successful in obtaining fellowships in various subfields of plastic surgery and have gone on to practice in academic centers, community hospitals, and private practices across the country. The program aims to graduate well-rounded surgeons with the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience to operate independently.
