Fellows will be part of a highly trained, multidisciplinary team that includes board-certified vascular neurologists, neuro-intensivists, neuro-interventionalists, neuroradiologists, neurosurgeons, emergency medicine physicians, nurse practitioners, specialized neuroscience nurses, stroke coordinators, and researchers.
Curriculum and Rotations
The fellowship curriculum includes substantial inpatient rotations where fellows engage in bedside rounds and take responsibility for overseeing residents and nurse practitioners. The fellows will respond to acute stroke alerts throughout the hospital, gaining direct experience in a busy clinical environment. In the outpatient setting, the fellow collaborates with vascular neurologists to ensure continuity of care for patients with cerebrovascular diseases.
The elective rotations can be customized based on the interests of the fellow, with options including neuro-intensive care, neuro-interventional procedures, ultrasound (transcranial and carotid), physical medicine and rehabilitation, and research opportunities. Additionally, fellows participate in weekly fellowship didactics, monthly resident didactics, and performance improvement meetings specific to stroke program initiatives.
