Overview of the Hand Surgery Fellowship Program

The Hand Surgery Fellowship Program at UPMC is a comprehensive, one-year ACGME-accredited training program designed for medical graduates who have completed residency training in Plastic Surgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, or General Surgery. This program is distinguished by its collaborative framework between the Orthopaedic and Plastic Surgery Services at the University of Pittsburgh and the Hand & Upper Extremity Center, formerly known as the Western Pennsylvania Hand Center.

Candidates will be trained under the mentorship of ten full-time faculty members, all of whom have Certificates of Added Qualification in hand surgery or are eligible for the same. Fellows will have extensive hands-on surgical experience in a newly established freestanding surgery center, as well as at the University Health Center of Pittsburgh.
