YOG 3 Fellowship

The Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery Fellowship at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell Health provides a comprehensive training opportunity for future specialists in the field of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS). This ACGME-accredited fellowship program has begun accepting fellows as of 2023 and is structured to advance the knowledge and skills necessary for the care and management of complex pelvic floor disorders.

Program Structure

The fellowship is a three-year program designed to provide extensive clinical and surgical training, along with research opportunities. The program consists of:

  • 18 months of FPMRS rotation
  • 12 months of dedicated research
  • Two months of colorectal surgery
  • Two months of urology
  • One month of elective rotations
  • One month in physical therapy

Fellows will gain most of their surgical training and inpatient experience through the distinguished South Shore University Hospital and Mather Hospital, recognized for their high surgical volume and diverse patient population in Suffolk County, New York. Each hospital serves as a tertiary referral center with extensive clinical cases.
