The Indiana University School of Medicine offers two residency programs in the Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics:

  1. Clinical Genetics Residency: This is a 24-month program accredited by ACGME that prepares residents for board certification by ABMGG. The program focuses on training clinical geneticists to diagnose and manage genetic disorders, provide counseling, and interpret laboratory information.

  2. Pediatrics-Medical Genetics Residency: A combined four-year training program that leads to full qualifications and board eligibility in both pediatrics and medical genetics. Participants also have access to research opportunities in genetics.

Application Requirements: - Graduates from an accredited medical school should apply via ERAS. - Required materials include the Common Application Form, letters of recommendation, dean's letter, transcripts, USMLE or COMLEX scores (preferably Step 2 by January 1st), personal statement, and a photo. - The program supports J1 visas and gives preference to graduates within three to five years of medical school. ECFMG is required at the time of the interview, and strong U.S. clinical experience within the past year is recommended.
