STEP 230

The Rush University Medical Center Diagnostic Radiology Residency program provides world-class educational opportunities with an emphasis on competence and compassionate patient care. Residents benefit from a high caseload at Rush University Medical Center's busy tertiary facility, where they actively participate in image interpretation, performing radiologic procedures, and gaining hands-on experience in angiographic and interventional procedures, ultrasonic scanning, and MRI operation.

The program offers diverse resident rotations, including experiences in outpatient facilities, community-based hospitals, and at top-rated pediatric hospitals. Residents work under the supervision of attending radiologists and have frequent one-on-one teaching sessions. The program encourages residents to participate in research activities, with opportunities in machine learning applications in Radiology, device trials in Interventional Radiology, and Radiomics.

Application to the program requires a medical degree from an approved institution, one year of postgraduate clinical training, passing of the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) for International Medical Graduates, specific application materials, and submission via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Due to the large number of applicants, personal interviews with every applicant are not possible.

Overall, the Rush University Medical Center Diagnostic Radiology Residency program offers a comprehensive educational experience, hands-on training in various radiologic procedures, and opportunities for research involvement.
