The Samaritan Health Services - Corvallis Family Medicine Residency Program is located in the heart of the Willamette Valley in Oregon, just 30 minutes south of Salem. The program emphasizes community engagement and serving a diverse population, including underserved, rural, and suburban communities.
Residents at Samaritan are trained to care for patients from all walks of life across the lifespan. The program aims to recruit emotionally intelligent residents who are curious, motivated, growth-oriented, and resilient. The curriculum consists of 13 academic blocks per year with longitudinal experiences in various specialties such as inpatient medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics, and osteopathic manipulative medicine.
The program offers two continuity clinic site locations in Corvallis and Lebanon. Residents have opportunities to rotate in different communities and coastal sites like Lincoln City and Newport. The continuity clinics are designed as Patient-Centered Medical Homes with additional support staff available to assist in patient care.
The Willamette Valley provides a range of outdoor activities and diverse food options for residents to enjoy. Residents also have the opportunity to attend various sporting events at Oregon State University and partake in local events like the Farmer's Market.
Samaritan Health Services participates in the ERAS program for the application process and the NRMP match. Qualified applicants will receive a secondary application after initial review and will be notified via email if selected for an interview. IMG applicants are required to submit the ECFMG Certification, and non-U.S. citizens must possess a Permanent Resident Card as Samaritan does not sponsor H1-B or J1 visas.
