Clinical Exposure

The program offers a comprehensive clinical experience in Central Brooklyn, exposing residents to a diverse, multinational, and multicultural patient population. A significant portion of patient care is provided at a safety-net hospital, engaging with a largely underserved, uninsured, and Medicaid population.

Curriculum

The residency's core curriculum has been thoughtfully designed based on the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) blueprint. This innovative curriculum includes other critical competencies relevant to practicing internal medicine, covering areas such as practice-based learning and improvement, interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism, and system-based practice. The program also offers tracks that emphasize either inpatient or ambulatory medicine to cater to specific career pathways within internal medicine.

Visa Support and Application Requirements

The program welcomes applications from both U.S. and international medical graduates. Visa support is offered, and the program is capable of sponsoring J-1 visas for international medical graduates. The residency program is competitive, and applicants are encouraged to present all relevant qualifications to enhance their opportunities for selection. Special application requirements include completion of medical education not too long before the application period and limits on failed STEP exams.
