The Allergy/Immunology Fellowship at the University at Buffalo is a comprehensive two-year program that provides a strong foundation in both adult and pediatric allergy and clinical immunology. The fellowship offers diverse clinical training opportunities in areas such as asthma, allergic disorders, primary immunodeficiency diseases, food allergy, and autoimmune diseases.

Educational components of the program include orientation lectures, immunology series, asthma/allergy conferences, journal clubs, case conferences, basic immunology courses, and more. Fellows engage in direct patient care in outpatient and inpatient settings, clinical care conferences, and record reviews. They also have the opportunity to participate in elective rotations in ENT, dermatology, and laboratory immunology.

The fellowship emphasizes research, with faculty involved in various clinical and basic immunology projects. Fellows are encouraged to develop and complete their research projects during the training period.

Applicants must have completed three years of general pediatrics training, three years of internal medicine training, or four years of med/peds residency training. Candidates are required to apply through ERAS and participate in the allergy/immunology match through NRMP.

The program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and the American Board of Allergy Immunology (ABAI).
