University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix Program

The University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix offers a fully accredited Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) Residency Program, where nine residents per year are matched. This program allows residents to work alongside fellows in Maternal Fetal Medicine and Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, ensuring a comprehensive training experience.

Application Requirements: - Passed United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE®) or Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination (COMLEX). - USMLE Step 2 or COMLEX Level 2 is strongly encouraged at the time of initial application. - Medical School transcript. - Three Letters of Recommendation are required, with a minimum of two from an OB/GYN. One standardized letter of evaluation (SLOE) may count towards the Letters of Recommendation. - Full ERAS application.

For International Medical Graduates (IMGs), additional requirements include: - Successful completion of the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG®) certification. - At least one year of clinical (not research or observerships) hospital-based training in a U.S. teaching hospital affiliated with a residency program. - Graduation from medical school no more than two years ago. - No failures on any USMLE exam. - It's mentioned that there is no visa sponsorship, but J-1 visas are considered with ECFMG. - Externship or observership programs are not available.

Program Highlights: - Resident input is highly valued in the selection of future residents. - Interviews for the residency will be held virtually on Zoom from November 2023 to January 2024. - Fourth-year student rotations are available in Gynecologic Oncology, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Labor and Delivery, OB Ultrasound, among others, with applications through Visiting Student Learning Opportunities (VSLO).
